“But needless to say, Leonardo never finished executing his plan. Coming up with the conception was enough for him.” Walter Isaacson, Leonardo da Vinci

Junghan Kim

Polymath engineer. Digital gardener. Emacs dweller.

His day is simple. He spends most of it at a keyboard — no mouse, no messengers, no social feeds. The only tool is Emacs. His phone stays silent. Three deep work sessions pass, then night comes. He sleeps at 9, wakes at 4. He is a digital minimalist.

He wasn’t always this way. Years of failure and restlessness once defined him. What kept him afloat was writing — putting words down made the unbearable bearable. Writing became both healing and a path toward expanding knowledge: from memory tool to creative instrument, a lifelong companion.

He now knows the question that life has been asking. Even the trials were gifts. His struggles are not his alone — they belong to everyone. What he has lived through must be organized, piece by piece. Not just for healing, but to reach a method of knowledge creation that lasts a lifetime.
